Details

This puzzle features a range of photographs of Hampton Court Palace, taken from the archives of Historic Royal Palaces, who are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of this extraordinary site. Most associated with Henry VIII, Hampton Court encompasses both Tudor and Baroque palaces. The Tudor palace originally belonged to Cardinal Wolsey in the 1520s, whilst the Baroque palace was designed in 1689 by Sir Christopher Wren. The jigsaw puzzle captures some of what you can discover when you visit the palace, and includes images of Henry VIII's Astronomical Clock, the ceiling in the Chapel Royal, the famous maze, the ceiling in The Queen's Drawing Room, the Tijou screen, part of the formal gardens, and views of the Tudor and Baroque Palaces. The extraordinary animal carvings also shown are known as The King's Beasts, and were commissioned by Henry VIII in anticipation of his marriage to Jane Seymour. The puzzle includes an A4 colour leaflet showing the puzzle image for reference and information about the image and the palace. Purchases of this puzzle support the work of Historic Royal Palaces.
