To our international jigsaw puzzling friends
Hello our lovely jigsaw puzzling friends,
I hope you are doing ok and finding comfort in any puzzles you can get your hands on.
For those of you who don’t know, our little online jigsaw puzzle store is also available in the US and Ireland. This is so we can service these customers in their own currency. We closed these stores in mid-March for 2 main reasons
- We weren’t absolutely certain that we would be able to get parcels to our customers overseas
- We were overwhelmed with orders across all stores and sales channels.
We have chosen to just keep our UK store open as we know that we can deliver to these jigsaw puzzlers and still meet our customer service targets. We do not want to let our customers down, it is stressful for customers and is stressful to our teams.
We have started to see a few facebook posts and messages from our international friends in the US, Ireland and in Europe asking when we will be opening up our international stores.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to explain. Complete honesty has been working for me so far, so, even though it may not be the “done thing” here goes…
The choice to close the International sites was a very difficult one. We are turning away customers! However, the choice we made was driven by being able to get enough stock to service all of our stores alongside managing the number of orders that we are able to cope with in a timely manner. We do not want to take customer’s money and then let them down.
We want to ensure that our staff are not overworked and are given every chance to stay healthy. This, alongside any protocols we have put in place to keep our staff safe, has meant that we are slower than normal in getting parcels out and have had to close down other areas of the business to ensure we are servicing the customers that we have to the best of our ability. For me and the other Directors, keeping staff safe and healthy is our absolute priority, there is nothing more important than that.
I realise that for some of you, this will not be good enough. I have read the messages and posts venting your frustrations. I am so sorry. We are working towards getting deliveries to US, Ireland and Europe as soon as we can. I am hoping that this will be in the next couple of weeks as we make further adjustments to our working practices.
