| Description:
The first production Hurricane flew at Brooklands on October 12th 1937, fitted with an early example of the Rolls Royce Merlin II engine, with a two blade properller. Many different versions of the aircraft followed mainly with enhanced engine power and armament. Although it is the Spitfire which is mainly associated with the Battle of Britain, it is the Hurricane wich accounted for 80% of the enemy aircraft shot down. This is a fantastic puzzle of the Tangmere Hurricanes flying over beautiful English countryside. |
